Women’s Rights and Preventing FGM in East Africa and Australia – panel discussion, Brisbane, March 29

You, your friends and colleagues are invited to join us for an evening panel about Women’s Rights in Somaliland and the prevention of Female Genital Mutilation /Cutting in East Africa and Australia.
 
The event will feature international speaker, activist and researcher, Amina Mohamud Warsame, from the Network Against FGM/C in Somaliland. Ms Warsame is an activist and advocate for women’s human rights, specifically the eradication of all forms of FGM/C.
 
This event will build the capacity of Australian service providers and members of relevant communities to learn from the Somaliland experience to develop and adapt successful strategies to prevent FGM/C in the Australian context.
 
The key feature of the night will include a panel discussion with Ms Warsame and a selected group of influential panellists from the health, activist and health promotion community.
