Upcoming event: Sex and relationships education: in school and beyond

Thursday 9 October 2014

HalfDay Workshop – 9.00am–1.00pm

Sydney Masonic Centre, 60 Goulburn Street, Sydney

Schools, the family and the media offer important settings in which education about sex, sexuality and relationships takes place. Yet the work undertaken is often complex and to a degree controversial.

This important half‐day workshop, as part of the 2014 Australasian Sexual Health Conference, will provide an opportunity for reflection on these and related matters: considering current controversies, discussing models of best practice within Australasia, and identifying priorities for the future.

The workshop will appeal to teachers, health professionals, youth and community workers as well as those seeking to extend their appreciation of what good quality sex and relationships education involves.

Speakers include: Sue Dyson, Tania Ferfolja, Kathy Gerwald, Lyn Harrison, Deana Leahy, Louise McCuaig, Debbie Ollis, Mary Lou Rasmussen, Margo Sendall, Jackie Ullman and Anthony Vassallo

A special conference day rate of $220 (for Thursday 9 October only) available to specialist teachers, health professionals, youth and community workers. This ticket will also allow you to attend the opening plenary sessions of the Australasian Sexual Health Conference on Thursday afternoon and discount registration to attend the evening Conference Dinner at Dockside, Darling Harbour.
